1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Pocket Tutor application ("App") operated by K12 Tutor Connect ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Pocket Tutor is an AI-powered educational tutoring application designed for K–12 students. The App provides interactive, step-by-step tutoring assistance across five core subjects: Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Reading. The service is intended to supplement — not replace — classroom instruction.
3. Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
- Accounts are created by parents or legal guardians on behalf of their children.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
- Free Trial: New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features.
- Subscription Plans: After the trial period, continued access requires a paid subscription. Plans and pricing are displayed in the App.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges according to your selected plan.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact Billing@k12tutorconnect.com for assistance.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Upload inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
- Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Use the App to cheat on tests or assignments (the App is designed to teach, not provide direct answers)
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or servers
- Attempt to bypass security features or access other users' data
6. AI Tutoring Disclaimer
Important: Pocket Tutor uses artificial intelligence to provide tutoring assistance. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. The App is designed as a supplemental educational tool and should not be the sole source of academic instruction. Parents and educators should monitor student progress and verify important academic content.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is the property of K12 Tutor Connect and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
8. School and District Accounts
Schools and districts may subscribe to Pocket Tutor under separate institutional agreements. Teachers and administrators using the App under school accounts are subject to additional terms outlined in their institutional agreement.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, K12 Tutor Connect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
